FRENKEN BROTHERS - WEERT (THE NETHERLANDS)

Over the last twenty five years the Frenken Brothers – Jac and Harry – are synonymous with the world famous Barcelona-race. This race is the most important race for longdistance fanciers in  Western Europe. Every European fancier dreams of winning this famous Barcelona-race once in his life. The Frenken Brothers didn’t yet win this race, but their performances are very good. From 1978 until 2002 they put 389 pigeons in the race and in the international result they scored is 225 prizes. That’s a score of 58%! Excellent!! To win Barcelona is a difficult task and there is only one Barcelona each year! Until now their best performances were a 7th , and twice a 10th place national. Another few places forward and they will win Barcelona.

But there is more. 

The season 2001 brought them new glory in the '2-day races' with afternoon release. The highlight was the winning of the 1st national St. Vincent against 16.486 pigeons in the race. The next race was Mont de Marsan with 13.636 competitors. In this race they won the 17th prize! The last race in this series was national Dax. And also this race a Frenken-bird was at the top. Against 18.323 birds they scored a marvellous 11th place. 

All those results brought them new succes in the different championships. So there is a 2nd place in the Dutch Extreme Long Distance Championship. This championship is a mix between races with morning- and afternoon release. The best in both races with the 1st or 2nd nominated pigeon is the overall-winner.

Races with morning release

2001 they started with a 191st prize against 7.567 competitors in the national race of Barcelona and Perpignan they won the 450st prizes against 8.627 birds national.

In the championchip 'The international Mistral Gold Cup of Europe' - counting the races with morningrelease of Barcelona, Marseille and Perpignan - they won 3d place in the international competition and they also had  the best international ace pigeon.  

The Frenken Brothers are anxious to get good results notwithstanding their famous results over the last twenty years. 

Their pigeons shine out over other pigeons by their vitality, character and power of endurance.
